Training

Bishops Riding Club welcomes riders and non-riders of all abilities, from the beginner to the more advanced rider are an affiliated riding club in Area 2.

We believe that there is a place in the local equestrian community for a forward thinking, creative, fun and professional club. At Bishops we pride ourselves on offering our members support, encouraging them to reach their personal goals and helping them in whatever way we can on their journey to success.

With regular training at weekends and summer week day evenings, we have sourced the best top local instructors who boast a wealth of experience in dressage, show jumping and cross country. All information on our training dates are available under the events tab.

Bishop’s offers something a little bit different with regular organised hacks, experience days, talks, demos and introductions into other areas of the sport.

As a member of Bishops you have access to local and national competitions including Area Qualifiers and Championships plus also opportunities to ride in area points and inter-club competitions.

Social

Bishops Riding Club have a reinvigorated social scene and would love you to come and join us for some of the upcoming events we have planned over the next few months.

During the summer months we generally have an open evening at the Brown Trout in Sunnybrow which is open to current members and anyone who is thinking of joining a riding club but may not be sure exactly what this entails.  We will be getting together to launch the new website and have a quiz, as well as having plenty of snacks and drinks and we would love to see you there.

Going into the summer months we will be arranging our infamous Car Treasure hunt which will take everyone on a wild goose chase around the County Durham scenery with the winners being crowned and awarded with the treasure at the nibbles get together once all of the racers return.

We are also hoping to have our usual summer BBQ and get together for all members and potential members to chat about horses, have some Pimms/lemonades and hopefully catch some summer rays.

Then on to the Christmas Party in December but we can’t quite bring ourselves to think about Christmas just yet so more details will follow on this once it is acceptable to discuss Christmas time.

We are also open to ideas regarding social events, if anyone has any suggestions for group get togethers, trips out or just general activities please don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be more than happy to try and arrange.
