Coaches

Bishops Riding Club use a number of different coaches who can cater for all levels and abilities. We try to tailor our training to what our members want. Please let us know if we’re getting it right! If you have any ideas for training or coaches, or if you have enjoyed a particular clinic (or not enjoyed a clinic!) please contact us, we’d love to hear from you.

Will Murray

Will needs no introduction locally! Will is a talented event rider with the skills to bring on young horses to compete with the best. He has competed up to 3*. Will started in the showing world on working hunter ponies and is a CHAPS ridden judge.

Will is a very encouraging and fun instructor. He will bring the best out of everyone whether flat work or jumping.

Carla Bolam

Carla has competed in Dressage to Intermediate 1 level being mentored by Paul Hayley and Gwyneth Lewis. In eventing, she has competed to Intermediate level.

Pip Hahn

Pippa is a list 3a BD judge who has ridden and trained horses up to intermediate eventing and Grand Prix dressage. She loves working with horses of all shapes and sizes encouraging everyone to love dressage as much as she does.

Tracey Fox

Tracey is a list 4 BD judge and level 2 BD UKCC coach

Session to include ring craft tips and how to maximise your marks. Tracey will help you visualize your test from giving a good impression as you circle the arena, mastering your entrance and halt. There will be advise on the focus on accuracy as well as refocus and move on if you make a mistake. She will provide you with invaluable help towards disciplined transitions and how to develop the quality of the gaits and how to use the corners to your advantage.

Karissa Willingale-Mawson

Karissa is a BHS registered instructor and a BD regional championship Novice winner and competes at elementary level.

She is a happy, enthusiastic and a down to earth trainer

Anyone who has used Karissa before knows what an absolutely brilliant trainer she is.

Tanya Hollingworth

Tanya is BHS level 3 Coach, and has worked in the equestrian world for nearly 20 years, from professional SJ and Dressage yards to holiday trekking centres and riding schools.

Her passion is developing horses and riders and creating the trust and skill to excel in any sphere , from competition riding to backing and producing a young horse . She believes in calm , consistent and clear training resulting in both horse and rider growing in confidence and having fun!

Jill Horseman

Jill is a BHS accredited coach and loves to teach. Her TREC obstacle training will offer you a chance to tackle obstacles you might encounter out hacking including map reading, mounting (and dismounting), crossing water, opening gates, jumping fallen logs or ducking under low branches.  Jill sometimes brings her bridge!!!

I think this will be great fun and a real challenge for your horse.

Philippa McKeever

Philippa is an International Show Jumping coach coaching from grass roots to world class level all over the world.

She has been coaching for over 20 years gaining numerous qualifications and a wealth of experience. She is a British Show Jumping Accredited Coach/UKCCL4

We have other coaches that we use like John Smart who travels North to us usually once a year to teach. John has ridden around Badminton and on nations cup show jumping teams.

We are always open to suggestions from members for coaches.
